Identify Modern legal MTG cards by clicking on their text box.Ocular Automaton lets viewers automatically recognize and identify cards in paper or online MTG coverage. To use the extension click on the extension icon or press Alt+A. Then simply click anywhere inside the text box of the card you want to identify.

Ocular Automaton currently supports cards from all Modern legal sets (Mirrodin to Amonkhet) with the exception of 8th Edition. All masterpieces are supported and tokens from some sets are supported. Basic lands from any set are not supported.

Ocular Automaton works by taking a screenshot of your current active tab in Chrome. It performs some processing and analysis of the screenshot in order to isolate the card you want to identify. A cropped image of the card is created based on this analysis and a perceptual image hash is made for it. This hash is compared to a hash of every other Modern legal card to find the closest match.
