This extension keeps track of which tabs on your browser are active, and which one's aren't. After a certain amount of time (30 minutes), inactive tabs will be terminated so that it will free up your browser of that extra clutter. However, you will still be able to access links to the sites of the closed tabs by clicking the Smart Tabs logo.
